The Heritage Playhouse is a 146 seat theatre in a renovated heritage building. The stage is a flat
black floor with raked seating up from it with a centre aisle. The
acoustics are superb and amplification is not often required. The playing area is separated from the
backstage area by a large arch, fronted by black curtains which allow stage right,
centre,
and stage left entrances and exits.
STAGE DIMENSIONS AND DRAPERY:
The lit playing area is approx. 25' across, 16'
deep. There are 3 4' wide legs on each side of the playing area which are
moveable up and down stage and can be angled independently of each other. The
legs may be moved US to open the playing space up and the lighting can be
expanded to take advantage of the extra space if desired. Stage height ranges from 14' 3" (to lighting bar) to
19' 4" highest point. A centre opening black traveller opens to the backstage
area.
LIGHTING:
- There are 40 drops, including 4 floor pockets paired on each side of stage.
- The theatre is equipped with a Strand CD80 24 x 2.4k dimmer system.
- Lighting board is a Strand MX 24 channel (2 scene
or multiscene mode (96 cues available)).
- There are 5 fixed pipes for
lighting 2 FOH / 3 ELECTRICS over the stage
- Currently the theatre has the following instruments
- 6- 6x12 lekos (@750W)
- 12- 6x9 lekos (@750W)
- 2- Strand Lekolite Zooms (@ 575W)
- 16- 6" Altman Fresnels (@500W)
- 2 – 24 degree Source 4 (@575W)

The Heritage Playhouse also has a Yamaha
DC2S 5'8" baby grand piano with an AC powered Disclavier unit that may be used
to record and playback CD's, operate as a synthesized voice triggered by the
piano keys, and act as a player piano with pre-recorded CD's made on the unit.
There is a film screen and video projection
equipment mounted in the theatre, which is the property of the Sunshine Coast
Film Society. Arrangements can be made to rent equipment from the SCFS.
